Rustburg man wanted on several charges found, taken into custody

Campbell County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call in the Sunnymeade Road area on Wednesday around 9 a.m. Suspect, 39-year-old Bobby Wayne Dalton, Jr., of Rustburg, proceeded to flee on foot. Dalton was wanted for unauthorized use of a vehicle, failure to appear, and distribution of schedule I/II narcotics.

Lynchburg to set up regional vaccine distribution center in Candlers Station

The city of Lynchburg is partnering with Liberty University to rent out a space in Candlers Station that will serve as a regional vaccination center. The space is located at 3700 Candlers Mountain Road and used to be a T.J. Maxx. Officials say the space was chosen because of its central location, parking and affordability.

Person clinging to tree rescued from Blackwater Creek in Lynchburg

An unresponsive person clinging to a tree in Blackwater Creek was saved. Rescue crews were called around 9 p.m. on Monday night. When the first responders arrived, the person was clinging to a downed tree about 20 feet from the bank.
